Fair use policy

My Wave Wireless (RevGen Networks) Fair Use policy is put in place to make all of our user’s internet experiences top-notch! We want everyone to be able to ride the wave, get connected, and stay connected. This policy is set in place to help control and moderate the usage of bandwidth by all of our customers and prevent the actions of internet-hungry and heavy users from abusing normal users’ right to high-speed internet access.

During periods of peak use, the Fair Use Policy restricts the available connection speed of users identified as having made excessive use of bandwidth capacity, in favor of other users who have not yet used their fair share. We also reset to zero all monitored bandwidth usage on a monthly cycle, ensuring an equal usage profile and equal access to the network and internet bandwidth. Your data usage is predetermined by the plan you choose, and you will never be charged more for going over your data limit, however, your account will not continue to perform at the same level or speeds until the new billing cycle resets your data allotment. You can always call us to up your data plan if you find you consistently need more data, or you can wait for the data to reset. Unlimited plans will not be affected. However, we do reserve the right to regulate excessive data usage to protect the rights and experience of all our customers.

The average household of (4) uses 300-500GB (gigabytes) of data per month for surfing, video/movie streaming, email, cloud storage for documents, pictures and more. Data users for First Person Gamers and Bitcoin Miners can use TB (terabytes - 1024GB) of data in a fraction of a month reducing the bandwidth available to you as the average user. This type of data hogging is not permitted on our network and those abusive user situations will be warned and deprioritized until their next monthly data usage recycle date.

Note: When utilizing the internet for streaming your favorite movies, weekly TV series, etc., remember to set your streaming devices and apps to 720/1080dpi versus HD/4K. This greatly reduces the bandwidth required and put simply, it does not reduce your experience in any way.

two hour movie streamed in HD/4K could be 14-20GB of data usage. That's 7-10GB/hour.

two hour movie streamed in 720/1080dpi could be 2-4GB of data usage. That's 1-2GB/hour.

Streaming gameplay or participating in online multi-player environments uses up a considerable amount of data, as does game updates or computer software updates.

Cellular internet is a shared experience, so please be aware that high traffic/peak hours cause more traffic to pass through the towers, and may impact your internet speeds. Also, when we offer unlimited data plans, please be advised that we do police usage, and if we become aware of any indications that may be anomalous to regular historical usage, we have the right to slow your roll until your data resets or we figure out what is causing the issue. Also, we don’t control how carriers maintain their towers or how they manage the traffic flow, nor do we have control over environmental conditions, weather, or other acts of god. Some things just happen, however, we will try and keep you connected, or at least keep you informed if any mitigating factors affect your connection, and make it right where we can.
